Summer Hours!

We hope you have enjoyed visiting The Works on Sundays during the winter. Starting in May, we will resume our Summer hours, which are Tues. – Sat., 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. We will be closed on Sundays from May 1st through September 30th, except for special events.


Family Industry Tour
Wednesday, June 18
For families and children age 12 and older.
$5.00 per person
9:45am – 1:15pm

Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Screen Machine. Transportation to the factory is provided by bus. Advance registration is required.
This program is offered in partnership with The Licking County Chamber of Commerce and the Business Community Advisory Council.


Supplies Needed
It takes a lot of supplies to meet the needs of the ever-growing educational programs here at The Works. We welcome donations of the following items:

Baking soda

Disposable diapers (large)

Flashlights (all kinds)

Rubber bands

Tape (all kinds: masking, scotch, whatever)

Glue (all kinds: Elmer’s, hot glue sticks, whatever)

Crayons & Markers

Paint (finger paints, tempera, etc.)

Ziploc bags (all sizes)

Batteries (all sizes)

Construction paper

Flour, Salt, Cornstarch

Gift Cards, Straws, Scissors (adult and child sizes)

Plastic Storage Containers (all sizes)

Surplus Lab Equipment (beakers, flasks, Bunsen burners, etc.)

Art Camp: Art Revolution
(Students entering 2nd - 7th grade)

Explore a variety of mediums and artists of the Pop Art Movement. Experience and create bold and dynamic images that define and represent popular culture. During this weeklong program, students will enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting and printmaking. Camp T-Shirt included.

Thursday, May 8th

FREE Admission!

The Works is pleased to be partnering with Mental Health America of Licking County (MHALC) to present a Children's Mental Health Awareness Fair at The Works museum.

Participants in the fair will include: Big Brother's - Big Sisters, Children's Close to Home, Newark Division of Police, Pathways, The Woodlands, and the Licking County Health Department. These agencies will have tables set up throughout the museum to provide information about their services.

Admission to the museum is FREE for everyone from 1:00 to 5:00 pm during this event, courtesy of MHALC.

Please join us for the dedication of our new building, and a close-up look at what will be going inside of our 100-year time capsule.

The museum will be open from 2:00 to 4:00pm for this special event. Admission is free.

Don't miss our first lunchtime concert of the season. This year's concert series will be bigger and better than ever, with hands-on bubble-blowing activities for the kids. Big bubbles, small bubbles, all kinds of bubbles!

Relax in our beautiful LeFevre Courtyard and enjoy music, food and fun.

Our first concert will feature "Common Thread," a popular local band known for their great mix of music from classic rock to folk.

Carry in a lunch or purchase something hot-off-the-grill from Heritage Deli at the concert.

And, this year you can cool off with some free Velvet Ice Cream. Yum!

Bring your own lawn chair or blanket (or sit at one of our tables) and enjoy your lunch.
