The Works Arts and Sciences Academy (WASA) is designed specifically for the alternative
schooling community and has developed great programs for children participating in homeschooling! Students are grouped in grades 1-4 and 5-8, with a maximum of 20 in each group. WASA groups meet the third Friday of every month from October through April (with the exception of December) and study a class curriculum consisting of science and art education.
Science and art classes run concurrently from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. A 30-minute lunch break is provided between sessions from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. After the lunch break, students switch from art to science classes and vice versa. The lessons for science and art programming relate in some way to each other to further strengthen the learning process. Registration opens to the public on September 6 and can be completed on-line, by calling The Works at 740-349-9277 or in person at The Works! Registration is required for WASA and space is limited. ___________________________________________
