| | Science of Art
This is the place where art and science meet. Build, experiment, play
and learn with a variety of materials and activities that will please
your eyes and tease your brain.
|
 | Go Lab
Design, build and have fun! Choose from bins filled
with thousands of plastic K’NEX® parts to design and build a car or
other creative contraption. You can even race your car down our gravity
track and enjoy several other hands-on activities. |
 | Invent Lab
Kids (and adults) love to tear things apart to see how they work. In Invent Lab we hand you a box of tools and safety goggles that you can use to tear apart real computers, printers, phones and similar devices. And if you want to get creative, you can “invent” your own crazy “robot” or other contraption by reassembling the parts & pieces in a new way. |
| Zap Lab
Electricity and magnetism are all around us – but how do they work? Explore the forces of electricity and magnetism in this hands-on exhibit. You can generate an electrical current, create circuits that really work and much more. |
| Look Lab
It’s all about light and optics. In Look Lab, you can experiment with lenses, colors, phosphorescence, magnification and more. And, when you step in front of our fascinating thermal imaging camera, you’ll see what’s hot and what’s not! |
| Tyke Lab
For our youngest visitors! Children age six and under will enjoy playing in this colorful, interactive space. There’s a puppet theater, farmers’ market and more. Look closely and you’ll notice that the decorative elements in Tyke Lab represent local attractions such as Dawes Arboretum and The Midland Theatre. |
| Me Lab
Explore your own health and fitness, and learn how to make healthy choices. Test your reflexes on a Nintendo Wii®, see how high you can jump, and much more. |
| Sound Lab
Listen up! Much of this lab is located outdoors in our LeFevre Courtyard. You can experiment with our giant Echo Tube and show off your musical ability on our Pipes of Pan and Xylophone Benches. |
