Overview:
A breathtaking exhibit of handmade quilts fashioned from dyed fabrics, beads, embellishments and found objects; each telling an intricate story that allows the artist to speak to viewers across all generations.

The exhibit includes fascinating works from Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart; an artist who makes her marks with a needle and thread. Stewart believes her visual journals give birth to her quilts and are the evidence of her existence. The dialogue between the viewer and the art allows Stewart to integrate her historical, present, and future voices, thus communicating with all generations. Stewart's purpose in teh making of her art is to guide one to discover a self-actualization of the human spirit--an ongoing conversation between the artist and the viewer.
