Glass Making

The Works has a variety of hands-on glassblowing, fused glass and pottery classes scheduled this fall for kids and adults of all ages! Glass Blowing Classes focus on the art of glassblowing and students learn basic techniques while creating glass ornaments. Fused Glass Classes focus on fusing glass pieces to create something beautiful such as a piece of jewelry, plate, sun catcher or picture frame. During Pottery Painting  Classes, participants choose from a variety of pieces then grab a paint brush and let their creativity flow! Plus, visit the Glass Studio the 3rd Saturday of every month for OPEN STUDIO.

The Works also offers Private Glass Blowing Classes for children and adults. Receive one-on-one instruction from a professional glass artist and learn techniques and tricks of the trade at your own pace! Private classes offer flexible scheduling and each participant leaves class with a unique glass piece of their very own.

GLASS & POTTERY CLASS SCHEDULE:
  • July 16 : OPEN STUDIO: Jewelry Making & Pottery Painting - Open Studio welcomes guests to come into the studio and let their creativity flow! Visitors may purchase a pottery piece to paint or choose to design unique fused jewelry from pieces of glass that are then fired creating beautiful custom earrings and pendants. NEW to Open Studio is the option to create a blown glass paperweight! Participants can also elect to create a fun sun catcher from colorful glass pieces. Open Studio also features live glass blowing demonstrations for guests to enjoy. Participants of Open Studio who do not wish to experience the museum are not charged general admission to the museum.
