Visitors as young as 9 years of age can try their hand at hot glass blowing. Of course, one of The Works' professional glass artists will be there to help!

Talented glass artists transform white-hot blobs of molten glass into colorful vases, bowls and other beautiful works of art right before your eyes during daily demonstrations. During a four-day period, the student receives one-on-one training and mentoring from a professional glass artist. The scholarship recipient creates her/his own pieces of glass art while refining glass skills and gaining a deeper understanding of techniques of the trade. Individuals interested in this scholarship must complete an application and submit it to The Works Glass Studio Manager. Applications are accepted beginning in May. This scholarship was established by the Winegardner family in memory of their son Nicholas. His passion for glassblowing encouraged his family to make this opportunity available for one student age 15 to enrolled in graduate school each summer.
